OK, I usually shy away from recipes without some sort of nutritional cover for sweets, but this is a favorite from my youth that I can’t shake.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Bisquik
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup water or syrup from canned fruit
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Combine Bisquik, nuts, and milk.Combine the balance of the ingredients and bring to a boil until sugar is dissolved and butter melted.Pat dough into 10" X 6" plan. Pour boiled syrup over dough.Bake 30 minutes at 350.
Notes
Consider using the syrup from candying orange peel or kumquats.
